I have had a variety of teaching experiences over the past 30+ years. I just finished teaching one-to-one beginners English online to a lady from Thailand. Before that I taught French on a volunteering basis to groups of young children for over 10 years. But I started off teaching English over 30 years ago when I was a student of German and I spent a year as an English language assistant in a high school in Germany. I followed this up at a summer holiday camp In Hungary doing the same thing. I took a break to have a family but my love of language has never diminished and of course bringing up a family, including one son with a learning disability, has only enhanced my understanding of how language learning develops in different ways for different people.
I have lots of interests. I love learning languages. I like going on holiday and exploring new places. I enjoy crafts, cooking and baking. I love getting to know people from different countries and over the years have had people from different countries stay in my home. I volunteer in my local church doing children's' work as well as in my town doing English literacy support as I enjoying helping other people.
My teaching method varies from student to student. I'm happy to focus on specific areas at different levels, such as Beginners' English with a focus on speaking, grammar and vocabulary or Advanced conversation/discussion on a variety of topics. In a trial lesson we would discuss what you want to gain from our lessons.
