A standard lesson will start with me asking for specific details regarding what they need to learn, any specific areas they are lacking in, etc. Once you have told me this, I have compiled the relevant information, and the bulk of the lesson still starts. I will begin by briefly explaining the information that seems the most relevant, important events, the context behind them and their effects. This will be followed by a small quiz about what I have discussed and then I will move on to allowing questions to be asked.

Following this, I will give the student a, for lack of a better term, essay question. Such as "'Serbia was most responsible for WW1' Discuss." It should be made clear, I do not expect an actual full-blown essay. Instead, I will ask that they take some time, exactly how long depending on the length of the lesson, to think about the subject. Then I will ask them to give their viewpoint and explain it. After this, I will attempt o dissect their argument and question them on possible weaknesses, while giving them a chance to counter these points. This is not with the aim of making it seem like they're wrong, but to simply consider their argument from multiple angles.

Once that is finished, if time permits, I will allow one final round of questions. Which I will answer to the best of my ability. And after that is done, I will give some final questions to consider. These do not need to be answered and aren't homework, but are simply there to spark curiosity and independent research.
