Hi, I am Robert; a passionate, versatile, audio professional that cannot wait to share the secrets, marvels, and wonders of music making with you! I have been a lifelong musician, vocalist, and audiophile. As far back as my youth, I relished the communal spirit of music; sure, making music alone is wonderful and good, but making music with others, now that is transcendent! That passion has blossomed into what some might call an obsession. I studied music education, instrument methods, classical voice, music performance, and vocal pedagogy at Illinois State University, whence I received a BA in vocal music performance. Since then, I focused my efforts on expanding the scope of my appreciation of music and pushing the boundaries of my musical practice. Through my travels, I have collected a miasma of bizarre and exotic musical instruments (a Japanese koto, a Chinese dizi, a West African gankogui, an Australian didgeridoo, and a Polynesian nose flute to name but a few) in an effort to learn, appreciate, and incorporate global musical culture into my personal practice, composition, performance, and life. When I am not writing, playing, or performing music, I teach. I love nothing more than connecting with fellow musicians and helping them along their musical journey. My lessons are individually tailored to the goals and skill level of my students, with the intention of not only improving their musical proficiency, but increasing their performance confidence, and augmenting their practice. Armed with a degree in music performance, a low latency audio interface, a digital audio workstation, and an array of instruments and mics, I charge into the sonic fray of the audio arts; will you join me?
