I can tailor lessons to your needs. I have a large bank of resources and experience to draw from. In all cases lessons will be interactive and should be fun, using real world materials and examples that pertain to what you want and enjoy.
For early years students, I will use books, songs, games and TPR activities to gain their attention and instill enthusiasm for learning while giving them the literacy skills needed to operate in the real world, that they can use throughout their lives.
For adults and teenagers, lessons and learning outcomes will be negotiated and assessed continuously. Materials will be engaging and tailored to the needs of the individual. They are expected to be active learners, not afraid to take risks and learning from their mistakes.
An example lesson would begin with an introduction to the topic, a discussion on the learning outcomes and what constitutes successful learning and how this will be assessed.
Then, a starter activity, possibly a discussion to draw out previous knowledge that the student has and for the student to ask any questions they want answered.
Next, we would move onto the main text or activity for that lesson. We would discuss, ask and answer questions or the student would actively complete a task.
Finally, the task would be analyzed and any issues or problems resolved and a short self assessment would be carried out by the student and shared with the teacher, so both know whether the learning outcomes had been met and both the student and teacher can decide what action needs to be taken for the student to progress in their learning.
