Firstly I'd like to know the level of my student and what he or she desires to accomplish, then I work on what is best fitting for such desire and level to actualize the set goal.

I taught university students who took interest in learning Arabic while studying their career courses. I also taught primary school pupils whose parents wanted them to learn Islamic and Arabic Studies. I used to take one-on-one classes with students who fancy their privacies.

Arabic competency comes with learning consistency, strong determination, student-teacher trust, and bearing in mind that Rome was not built in a day. There is a popular saying in Arabic that is translated thus, 'Knowledge is achieved through learning, and learning is gradual.' One of the benefits to infer from this is that the journey of becoming a competent Arabic speaker and reader is a gradual one, hence, it requires even more patience and good morals from a student while learning. A student of Arabic has to be patient with his teacher and lessons because nothing comes easy except through the grace of God.

Meanwhile, I'd like to say a little about the benefits of learning Arabic. If you are a Muslim, it brings you closer to the comprehension of Islamic scriptural texts such as the Quran and Hadiths, and books of Islamic scholars present and past. If you only desire to learn it because you would like to read books written in Arabic, and you want to be able to interact with the Arabs, then consider yourself lucky because I will be teaching Fushaa which is like formal Arabic across the globe, unlike the dialects which are restricted to their country origins alone. Take for instance, An Egyptian does not understand a Morrocan when he is talking and vice versa unless they speak Fushaa which is the one used in the Islamic scriptural texts and taught in every formal Arab school.

May you get the best of your goals.
