I teach using the principle of understanding. If students understand the concept fully then they will have a much better chance of solving problems that require a full understanding and an ability to apply that understanding too.
I have over 30 years experience of teaching and tutoring in both primary and secondary schools. I have been head of Maths and managed to get results to improve dramatically due to my approach and organisation. Particularly restructuring the scheme of work. I have managed a team of staff and work well as part of a team.
I am also managing director of a small business which involves managing a team of staff and dealing with customers.
I have managed a property business and have maintained good relations with all my clients.
My lessons are engaging and inspiring and always involve students and get pupils talking to each other. It's the most effective way of learning. They learn a lot by explaining things to each other.
