Every student is different, and we all learn at different speeds. Each person has particular language requirements, and it is my job to take all of this into account. A good teacher is also a good listener and, in my opinion, you cannot be a successful teacher until you understand your pupil and have taken the time to understand how they think.
My background is in Engineering and I have travelled to most parts of the world. When I was 58 I decided it was time for a change in career and, I decided to train as a TEFL teacher. Subsequently, I became an IELTS examiner and I helped many of my students to pass this examination and successfully use it for immigration purposes.
However, I am equally happy teaching absolute beginners - regardless of age - and have a number of students in the age range 11-15.
My own language studies taught me how difficult it can sometimes be to gain proficiency in a new "tongue" and I believe this helps me to help others.
I am a dedicated language teacher and I hope the pleasure I get in meeting new people is reflected in the lessons that are shared between the student and myself.
