I have over twenty years experience tutoring professionally, both privately and as part of the
tutoring organisation Arts Academy based in Regent Street, London. This experience has enhanced
my teaching methods and furthered my overall skillset, qualities I am utilising now whilst working on
a doctorate and developing my academic career. Having worked for many years with young people,
my familiarity with their educational needs is instinctual and extremely well advised. I have a fun
and relaxed demeanour which lends itself well to an educational environment. I have also worked
with many ensembles, collaborating with others and successfully completing performance projects in
music. These skills combined will prove very useful and are highly transferable to many educational settings, ages and abilities. Additionally, being a dedicated Christian, I have engaged with many different ministries and platforms to spread the Gospel and teach biblical principles to Christians and non-believers alike. I have been a preacher for Methodist churches in Cornwall, giving me a formal platform from which to minister local congregations and serve the community. In addition, I participate in biblical studies and other teaching positions within the church, which has broadened my teaching methods to encompass a wide range of individuals from differing backgrounds and beliefs. This has helped me to gain experience in communicating sometimes difficult topics in meaningful and captivating ways for others to engage with varying theological concepts. Indeed, completing a PhD in theology will enable me to tutor the English language, for example, very effectively, given that the writing skill level alone to complete such a project is exceptionally advanced. All of these skills aforementioned combine to a work experience which is unique and very relevant to any tutoring needs.
