First of all, I am a passionate teacher who has been teaching for more than 20 years in five different countries. In this perspective, living with different cultures, teaching, and developing research, I realized that each student has his/her own potential and difficulties. Moreover, sometimes the problem is not related to the subject per se but how to study and learn the subject.
In this way, I am always attentive to what my students say and behave during our classes (the silence can also say too much). In addition, I consider the students main goals in learning History, Geography, philosophy, or any other subject I teach.
Another important point, once we have been living in a mass communication society, is to make clear the difference between what is information and what means to build knowledge—what demands connecting "dots", contextualizing the contents, and trying to relate them to the students` realities and interests.
Finally, the mistakes are part of the teaching-learning processes; therefore, disregarding the tests, they are welcome as long as they are well worked and that we learn from them. Additionally, learning can be a pleasure; it is an opportunity to open new doors, broaden our horizons, and prepare ourselves to deal with the contemporary world´s challenges.
Despite all that I mentioned, I am pragmatic, and it will be very nice to teach and exchange experiences with you. However, if it is necessary, we will adapt the classes or create new strategies of learning, creating paths according to your needs and the classes needs.
Welcome aboard, I am already waiting for you!
