I have no English teaching experience as of yet, but believe you me the first to sign up to me will not regret it! You're going to wish it was you that signed up. How do I teach? I am a very organised person so each lesson we will start off with our objectives of the lesson. What do we want to learn? How are we going to learn it? I will ask you if there any better ways you think you could learn it? Will I assign homework? Yes but this is optional of course. Only the ones that really want to learn a language will put in the work outside of class. Homework in the form of learning off grammar structures as this is how I learn Spanish tenses and for me its the only way you can learn them. Another form of homework I will assign is actually going out into the world and using the language. So if you're lucky enough to live in an English speaking country at present I will ask you to go to the shops for or with your parent/guardian or even for yourself and ask shop assistants even if you know the answer. For example, "Excuse me can you me where the peanut butter is" or asking the butcher "I would like 6 chicken fillets please". Yes this seems a bit silly I know but I too do this even if I know the answer as to where something is in a supermarket but the idea of this is to build up confidence and to get used to hearing the response of someone that speaks English fluently. As well as all this I will assign exercises during class so you practice the tenses you learn and at the end of every week we will have a mini exam of what we have done to see if you actually know what you have learned. This way both you and I can be kept accountable. It is one thing saying you know it but it is another actually seeing if you know it. After all seeing is believing. If there is one thing you can take from all this it is "Practice what you Preach" and I do exactly that. Anything I ask you to do is something I would do too when learning a language, I will never ask a student to do something I wouldn't do myself. To finish off I see my students as friends, people I want to see succeed. I'm not just in this for the money I want to make a real difference to people's everyday life's and future careers.
