Rhea in a nutshell
It was in 9th grade that I realised my passion for biology, especially neurology. It was in 9th grade that I realised my passion for biology, especially neurology. The way the minuscule neurons, so intricately shaped, are capable of firing information every second just so we can comprehend and carry out our basic day-to-day activities to develop the most complex of skills, fascinated me. I believe the foremost reason for that was the way my teacher helped me grasp those concepts. I am eternally grateful to my teacher for helping me realise where my interests and passion lie so that I could find a direction for my future life. All through medical school, I learnt and memorised concepts through flowcharts, and visual aids, which I believe are the most effective way to build a foundation for a subject. However, I do know that everybody learns differently, hence, identifying how every student learns and grows is important. I believe once I understand how a young mind functions, I can properly cater to and help push the student to excellence. I am aware that I lack formal experience in teaching, but what I lack in practice, I make up for, in skills and education.

Teaching is a profession, where one learns on the job, as each student is different and has different requirements, quite similar to that of a doctor, who practices and learns every day to help patients of varying ailments. Thus, I believe that teaching part-time will be the best use of my time as I wait for a job in my field as I can help the bright young minds of tomorrow.
