A 25-year-old UCL History graduate from London. I have achieved 6A*s and 3As in my GCCEs and 2A*s and 1A in my A levels. Whilst having experience in tutoring English and Maths to classes of around 15 students aging from 6-16 at a public learning centre, I recently moved to private tutoring both online and face to face. I specialise in teaching English (KS1-KS4) and Maths (KS1-KS2). My current students range from 7-18 years old.
I have strong experience in teaching ESL students as most of my students require ESL teaching. This involves preparing various speaking, reading, writing, and listening activities, which are designed to make them more proficient in English. I am also currently completing a Level 5 TEFL Course which will equip me with further skills and resources to teach ESL students. I enjoy teaching English to non-native speakers, helping them to improve their fluency and seeing their progression is incredibly rewarding. I am also available to teach English to students from KS1- GCSE.
I am a highly enthusiastic and approachable individual who possesses a strong passion for teaching and sharing knowledge. I have an adaptable and patient teaching style with experience teaching multiple age groups. Using key communication skills to develop strong relationships with both students and parents is something I am heavily focused on as I believe this is the most effective way to tutor for successful outcomes.
I am committed to providing my students with the best possible teaching and enjoy seeing progress being made. My teaching style is very interactive and will accommodate what the student is currently learning at school. I like to form a friendly and warm relationship with my students, as they engage better with the subject and ensures a relationship of growth and longevity.
Providing relevant worksheets and setting homework which I then mark upon request ensures I am tracking the students’ ability and progress. Reviewing my students’ development on a weekly basis is essential and I provide guardians with a comprehensive report of the students’ progress and engagement with the subject. Through analysing their strengths and weaknesses, this enables me to adapt lessons accordingly and personally.
