During our lessons, I will take a student-centered approach, whether it be a modeling approach, discussion, and debates, or lecture style. I want to cater to my pupils' needs in a safe and supportive way help them be proud of their strengths, and explore new and higher levels of English Language and Literature. From the start of our sessions, I will listen carefully to the student's personal goals and challenges. After understanding that, we can start individual learning through interactive activities, memory and recall tasks, active discussions and debates, and personalized feedback on all submitted essays. I want to create a space where English won't cause anxiety and can be broken down into more comprehensible chunks. I have very good flexibility and organization, so I aim to help my students whenever I am available. Most of my experience has been volunteering in schools as a Teaching Assistant, which has provided me with experience in creating interactive and printable worksheets in all areas of English, helping students how to learn and the structure of lessons that best benefit students. In teaching the rules of language I find that making the majority of learning interactive is best, as well as discussing how and why the rules are in place. However, English is not just rules and SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar), it is also about writing in your personal voice. Writing is my personal career goal, screenwriting, however, I understand not everyone writes like that or even wants to. Whatever style you like to write and no matter how often you do (if any), I want to help you use your personal voice and learn how to use it as a form of self-expression. Not only that but how to consider the reader in your writing and the meanings and representations you might have never even considered. Progress doesn't happen overnight, so I will be following a basic SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based) Goals structure so that no matter how small, everyone will be proud of your achievements, but most importantly you will be proud of yourself. I aim to create an environment where my students can feel proud of what they have accomplished and go on to accomplish many more things in their lives and their English Literature and Language studies.
