I am a fun and interactive 25 year old teacher, I like to use games to help learn topics. I believe children should be interested and engaged in what they are learning to be able to fully understand. Although I currently privately teach for a family, I am starting employment as a teacher in a school in September 2023 and I have experience teaching in a school from my time on placement in my PGCE. I always begin with a simple test to see what a pupil might be struggling with before continuing the learning plan. I believe repetition is fundamental for continuing the learning cycle. I will always base lesson plans on what the child is struggling with. I use mini tests or multiple choice quizzes to address misconceptions or what a child is already good at. I have a lot of experience teaching 1:1 and I can make lessons engaging and not at all boring! For the past 3 years I have taught 2 children which has allowed me to teach most of the primary curriculum. Including years 2-6! I have managed to get 2 pupils to the level needed to complete their multiplication checks. Both at the beginning knew very few times tables, they are now fluent in their table knowledge up to 12x12. I can improve reading and spelling skills through various strategies which have been proven to work with a dyslexic child I have been recently teaching. I hope I am the right fit for your child!
