I teach in an informal way, using a variety of online resources plus textbooks to give a variety of styles. Although grammar is essential, I teach in a less grammatical way and prefer to use less formal, real life scenarios, role play conversations and topic based lessons to keep learners engaged and motivated.

Being from a drama background, I am able to teach pronunciation of language using phonetics when necessary.

I have experience preparing students for the Ielts examinations and many year face to face experience on a one to one basis or with small groups. This enables me to quickly assess levels, address common issues and to tailor lessons using experience plus intuition.

I’ve taught students from all over the world and I am sensitive to cultural differences plus the fact that many learners may be missing their home country. I try to use compassion, respect and tact in order to make the learner feel comfortable and secure.

I have experience with basic level learners to advanced level learners. So far I have taught Italians, Indians, Chinese, Hungarians, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Saudi Arabian and Bulgarian students. I’d love to learn about your culture as I am teaching you.
