Well hi there!
I'm Rebecca, I have a joint honours degree in English & History from the University of Strathclyde, and a Masters degree in English Literature from the University of Glasgow.
I have extensive experience in Renaissance studies and Nineteenth-Century literature, with a keen passion for the Gothic! I am also a lover of poetry and historical fictions.
I'm fairly new to tutoring, so we would both be on a learning adventure together!
I love to use PowerPoints to aid my lessons, as I'm a big fan of visual aids when teaching, however I am happy to have an initial conversation on what learning methods work best for you and tailor our lessons to meet your needs as much as possible.
I strongly believe that learning is most effective through active methods such as an open discussion, visual exercise, or even a creative piece! The best way to learn and retain new information is to engage with it, so I will ask you to participate frequently during our tutoring lessons.
I know the idea of participating in something that is new to you can be daunting, but I can promise you our lessons are a safe space, tailored to your needs, and most of all will be fun and engaging!
I am more than happy to answer any queries you have about my experience or teaching style so please don't hesitate to drop me a message with any questions you have, big or small, and I'll get back to you as quickly as possible!
Bye for now!
