Hello! I'm Rebecca, a Spanish and English tutor with a 120-hour TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) qualification and a first-class honours degree in Spanish and French with distinction in spoken language.

I am a native English-speaker with experience of teaching high school students and adults alike. My prior teaching experience, academic qualifications and experience of travelling, working, studying and volunteering abroad have helped me hone my own language, as well as those entailed in eaching and translation. Having taken on the challenge of learning new languages myself and putting them to use in day-to-day life in France, Quebec, Spain, Peru and Ecuador, I understand what it takes not only to ace exams, but also to achieve the versatile and well-rounded set of language skills necessary to thrive in a country where your second language is spoken.

My teaching philosophy revolves around making learning enjoyable for students of all levels and my approach is detailed-oriented, personalised and motivational. I create interactive lesson plans that are tailored to students' individual needs and interests. To do this, I begin by asking students about their language goals and existing knowledge of the subject so that I can create a structure for their tutoring sessions. I also ask about their hobbies and areas of interest as students learn most effectively when the content of a lesson is personally relevant and engaging for them. This helps them stay motoivated in them putting their new language skills into practice and masterfing their new language.
