Hello! It's a pleasure to meet you.
My name is Rebecca and I am a recent Cambridge graduate from N.Ireland. I have worked extensively in classroom settings and I bring this expertise to my lessons. I am organised, dedicated and cater to the individual needs of the student. I believe that good grammar, both in English and French, is crucial to getting to grips with learning another language, therefore, my lessons concentrate on consolidating the student's understanding of grammar. This is an aspect of the language that many students struggle with in the classroom, however, I have many engaging strategies that help make daunting aspects of the language - irregular verb conjugations, for example - clear to the student.
Vocab sheets and useful phrases will be provided for the student.
I spent a year living and working in Paris during my third year of university and additionally spent school summer holidays working as an au-pair in both France and Spain. Currently I am preparing for my C2 exam which accredits bilingualism in French in accordance with The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Speaking French confidently is something I find incredibly rewarding and in my lessons I seek to create a safe space for students to improve their spoken French.
I am passionate about transmitting my love of French culture to students; films, TV programs and even Netflix series can all serve as invaluable resources to learning and appreciating the language. Lessons combine traditional aspects of language learning with this interactive focus on culture.
