Having first started out studying GCSE History, I then went on to study and complete my A level History. After finishing my A levels, I went on to study a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and History, achieving a 2:1.
I tailor a specific teaching plan to each individual student, and content of their study. My teaching style includes the use of PowerPoints, to allow students to visualise the content and engage with the subject matter. I have a full understanding of different students needs and abilities, and tailor each teaching approach appropriately to the students learning requirements.
I have studied a wide variety of topics throughout my academic life, including World War One and Two, post World War Two, Nazi Germany, the Tudors, Environmental History, 20th Century American Civil Rights , Vietnam, and 20th Century Britain, to name a few.
During my gap year before starting University, I tutored a GCSE student to help her complete her studies. I have since completed my degree, and my knowledge and understanding of the subject, and the knowledge and skill needed to write a convincing essay and exam answer have vastly improved.
Over the years, I have been assessed in the form of essays, coursework, and exams, ranging in word count length, and time condition length. I believe, that while a comprehensive knowledge of the subject is important for success, it is also vital to understand the format in which you are being accessed, and how to answer each specific question type, and what is being asked of you.
