I am now in my twelfth year of teaching having taught in both KS1 and KS2. I have experience of teaching years and 6. I taught a mainstream class for 5 years where I planned and delivered a full and varied curriculum that considered the interests and needs of individual learners. Here, I gained experience supporting children with SEND including children. I also taught higher ability children and ensured their needs were met.
I have taught for 5 years in a Small Targeted Intervention Class in a mainstream school. This involved a rolling cohort of children with a variety of needs who needed specialist support in order to make accelerated progress. All the children had Special Educational Needs and often other barriers to learning such as EAL, sensory impairments or SEMH. All the children worked on the objectives of their current year group.
I have also taught in a specialist SEMH school, giving me experience of trauma informed teaching. All of the children had multiple and complex needs, including a history of trauma, ASD and ADHD.
I have worked as an online tutor for the National Tutoring Program working with individuals and small groups of children who needed additional support post covid.
