I am a passionate and result oriented teacher who is sensitive to the learning, social and emotional needs of my students. I create a classroom environment that is safe and solicits the active participation of all my students. My teaching practices are interactive and students centered type of teaching, where my students are partners in knowledge creation.

For example, I will present learning activities that are hands-on to deliver the days lesson. I will ensure that my students understand the concept that is being taught before moving to the next concept/topic. We will both agree to moving to the next topic after evaluating their level of understanding of the previous topic by continuously assessing them as we move on through the lesson.

I will make sure there is an amount of mutual respect needed to form a good student-teacher relationship. We will explore learning techniques that are fun and inclusive by using mediums such as gimkit, blooket and kahoot during classes.

My several years of experience relating with students/children from diverse backgrounds has assisted me in understanding the needs of students from different backgrounds. Not all children learn the same way and it is important for teachers to understand that and take that into consideration when planning their lessons and interacting with their students. I understand that class time is not always enough to cater to every students needs, but as a teacher it is my responsibility to be as flexible as possible to ensure that all students are included in the learning process. My teaching philosophy views the classroom not only as a place for students to learn, but also a place where I can learn, unlearn and relearn every day in order to improve my skills as an educator.
