About Me

In the past 10 years, I have taught Portuguese and Spanish in the United States. I am a polyglot who speaks five languages: Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, English, and French. At the age of 13, I began learning languages as an autodidact. Aside from music, travel, literature, movies, art, and politics, I enjoy discussing a wide range of topics. I am extremely social and always willing to help. For a period of time, I lived in Lima because I enjoyed traveling, meeting people from different places, and exchanging linguistic and cultural knowledge.

In my role as a teacher

In the past decade, I have taught Portuguese and Spanish in three different countries, including Brazil, Peru, and the United States. I am currently teaching Spanish at a Gwinett County public school. In my role as a teacher, my goal is to create a pleasant environment that encourages students to learn, practice languages, and feel part of the teaching-learning process. Student needs are always considered by me as a professional who is accessible and sympathetic.

What do I teach & how do I teach?

My classes are designed based on the individual needs and objectives of each student. No matter what level you are at, I can teach you. I use a moderate communicative methodology, focusing on mutual understanding from the very first day of class. Additionally, I encourage the development of listening comprehension skills, oral expression skills, written expression skills, and reading comprehension skills through a variety of playful-didactic and authentic activities, including songs, videos, and literary texts, among others.

I enjoy having lessons with Señora Elias Castejon! She is very fun, and she always asks us to do our best, whether it's explicit or implicit. She gives us interactive lessons that are fun and informative at the same time. I'm able to remember Spanish lessons that Señora Elias has taught, and am always in a good mood afterwards.
