I believe a good lesson is all about interaction and application. Everyone has access to information online and in textbooks but what sets good education is the application of the information. My teaching consists of PowerPoint style presenting together with case studies when appropriate. These case studies will include legal scenarios. It is important for my students to understand how concepts are applied to understand them better but also to prepare for a potential legal career (sitting the Solicitors Qualifying Exam or Bar and working in a legal context). This pedagogical philosophy is inspired by my experience in legal practice at both local and international commercial law firms. The practice of law can be quite different from academia therefore it is of most importance that students are encouraged to view legal problems from both perspectives.

I am happy to encourage the diversity of my students to cater to their individual needs and passions. Not everyone who studies law ends up in practice however legal concepts are very applicable to all careers and within your daily life. I have experience as a Help Through Helpline Advisor at Citizens Advisor at Citizens Advice where I have built knowledge of Welfare Law but also developed skills in creating holistic assessments of client needs, identifying options and solutions to empower the client to find a way forward. I believe that students will naturally gravitate towards their studies when empowered and supported. This is reflected in my teaching style. I will always encourage the student to participate and will take a patient approach with them
