For the lessons I will provide a programme over a period of time tailored on the schedules provided by each student. At the start, I will give the student the opportunity to bring me a play or an extract they would like to particularly work on. (depending on the curriculums choose Shakespeare play)
To begin with, we will familiarise ourselves with literary terminology used in the Shakespeares work. Acts, sonnet, Verse, Prose etc.
Then we will tackle language and I will provide activity to show how simple the language really is, 'Slangspeare' is a great example.
We will pick an extract, and workshop it, we will use comprehension and make a story from our intial understanding. Then we will review and look at the extract to analyse the piece until we have a better understanding on the language Shakespeare used.
We will pick a play and delve deeper into the themes and the story! At the end of the programme students will have a piece of writing or storyboarding that they can show, from their learning.
This programme is to allow students to see that Shakespeare isn't intimidating, the language is relatable and I will just be there to help them understand and become confident in it.
*lessons can be tailored to multiple age ranges Primary - A level.
