About me

My name is Rajwinder an experienced teacher of Geography from the UK. I have been a teacher of Geography since 2015 and have worked in many successful secondary schools for example Hebburn Comprehensive School I have taught primary key stages and GCSE,s A Levels to children and learners. I have worked as an online tutor since April 2020 to September 2021 through the (Covid 19 pandemic). I have also been working face to face as a supply teacher. I am a determined Tutor I have helped learners and children achieve very high grades.

The examination boards I have worked with are AQA, Edexcel. I have expert knowledge in relation to exam technique and performance and use this effectively in my teaching to enable learners to improve their performance in examinations. I have detailed knowledge of all of the main specifications for Geography at GCSE & A Level (including coursework). I provide detailed feedback on homework tasks such as exam questions to enable the learners to understand fully what is required of them in the examinations. I also provide resources for children and learners I am innovative to create quizzes on the physical geography on topic climate and seasons to assess learners to ensure they meet the learning outcomes that are used in lessons and can be used independently for revision.

Experience optional

Referring to my most present role I have been working as an Exam Invigilator, Exams Support Office at Kenton School my key tasks have consisted of supervising and invigilating GCSE English, Maths, Science exams and managing the paper work coordinating the exams time table. At Hebburn Comprehensive School I was responsible for covering the staff rota I am hardworking I helped organise the classroom as scheduled on the time table in advance with the learning materials. I was committed to work flexibly to cover staff absences. As a PPA Cover Supply Teacher I was responsible for delivering to classes up to twenty five to 30 children. The subjects I covered were Music, Geography, English, Citizenship covering the sixth form, Key Stage 1 – ages 5-7 (Years 1-2) Key Stage 2 – ages 7-11 (Years 3-6) Key Stage 3 – ages 11-14 (Years 7-9)

I taught Key stage 1, 2 Geography at Hebburn Comprehensive School the topic was“ physical geography Glacier systems and landscapes”. I draw visual diagrams of the glaciers on the whiteboard. I explained what the glacier was and how they are formed. I questioned children to observe learning had took place I wrote the responses on the whiteboard. the children engaged with subject they appreciated the beauty and diversity of glaciated regions and the challenges they present for human habitation. A educational trip took place at the Lake District in England. The children had the opportunity to participate in field work they were able to exercise and develop observation skills, measurement and geospatial mapping skills. Together with data manipulation and statistical skills. I observed I monitored the children I give feedback I updated the assessments records.

In English key stage 1 I tutored children with SPAG in small groups I taught phonics. I was innovative I created my own rhyming worksheet. This help the children repeat the word after me so they could understand and say the word clearly. To assess learning had taken place I tasked the children to write the word on the mini whiteboard. I taught children using the phonics strategy I give flash card of plurals this helped the children improve their reading skills and become more fluent in their comprehension and adding words. I taught children how to add the letters to word for example on the whiteboard the children to write the word ball and add s to make the words change to balls. To observe learning had taken place I assessed the children I questions them I wrote the responses on the whiteboard. The learners used their mini whiteboard as a learning resource. I give feedback to children I updated the assessment records. I addressed areas to improve on with the children to ensure they spelt the words correctly. The children successfully met the learning outcomes and understood what plurals were using phonics.

In Maths Key Stage 1 tasked the children to task the children to use the colour maths activity to encourage children to learn all about the numbers 1 to 10. Each mat had different sections to encourage children to practice number recognition, number formation and counting. This was a learning activity the children enjoyed and engaged well in the learning process. I observed the children they successfully met the learning outcomes I updated the assessment records. An integral part of my role was to supervise learners complete the learning activities set for Geography in Key Stage 3. The subject content I delivered was the topic Humanities. I wrote the learning outcomes on the white board. I delivered the Power Point Presentation what are tropical rainforests. I used Q & A to check the learners understood the task. I went round the class to observe and monitor learners.

My remit was to plan and deliver appropriate, broad and balanced differentiated and challenging lessons for the learners appropriate to their needs. A learner that had dyslexia I intervened I wrote the learning activity on a separate white mini board I used a green board pen. I ensured all learners were focused and on track to meeting the lesson objectives.
