I am Rajeswary Jimmy, with an experience of teaching English for more than 20 years.I am interested in teaching the various sections of English Literature like drama, poetry and lier I was working as a teacher of English and then I was promoted to the post of the head of the institution but while in the post too, I continued with my teaching because I love interacting with my ht now I am giving training in communicative English to working professionals but I really miss my classes with the younger generation.
About the methodology I adopt, what I can say about why children don't like poetry , prose or drama is that it is not conveyed to them properly. A teacher has to enact a drama out for a child to visualise it before him.A teacher definitely has to create before him the imagery in a poem through his/her words. A student should be able to relate himself with the lesson he is studying.The teacher should definitely aim at a holistic education for her students, which aims at a wholesome development of a student.A child should be made to look around the world and see his fellow beings with an empathy and concern, he must strive to make the world a better place to live in. An education that fails to do all these is no education. Of all teachers I believe language teachers have the opportunity and are the best to lick their students to shape in all these.
