As a qualified and experienced teacher and tutor, I am positive and creative which allows me to capture the imagination of and fully engaged my students. I am responsive to the changing needs of my students and adapt my lessons to meet their individual needs. I have taught all subjects in both Key Stage 1 and 2 and have experience completing writing tutoring for students from Years 1 to 6. I have also done Years 1 and 2 phonics and reading tutoring as well as maths for all primary ages.
My qualifications are as follows; Masters of Education, Distinction, The Open University (2022). QTS, PGCE Primary (accredited by Canterbury Christ Church), Distinction, Essex and Thames Primary SCITT (2019). And Degree of Bachelor of Arts. Winner of the University of Brighton 2018 Graduate Fine Art Award, University of Brighton (2018).
I am driven, committed and self-motivated. I enjoy being organised, efficient and solving problems. And, most importantly, I love working with children and helping them to fulfil their full potential. I believe to see a child's confidence and belief in their abilities blossom is incomparable. Working with children has made me acutely aware of the power of communication in teaching and learning. I have always strived to plan and teach through means which make learning opportunities as accessible as possible so all learners are challenged and engaged. I think the love of learning is key and endeavour to make lessons exciting and fun whilst prioritising and not deviating from the learning intention.
Alongside my PCGE with Essex and Thames Primary SCITT, I took a SEN specialism. I have experience in KS1 and KS2 both in a teaching assistant and class teacher capacity. I have held the position of Head of Year, part of the Reading Subject Leader Team, liaison with the local care home and other outreach programs and coordinated the School Council. Between 2020 to 2022, I completed a part time Masters in Teaching and Learning, achieving distinction. My dissertation was a study of Reading for Pleasure.
