I have played tennis since the age of 11 but have been involved with the game for most of my life due to the fact that my mother and grandparents both played from being young. As part of my playing career, I have competed for my county (Lancashire) and club throughout my years of playing. As of this year, I have completed 4 years of playing for Harding University on a tennis and academic scholarship, whilst completing my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. In addition to my extensive playing career, I have completed my level 1 coaching award and plan on doing my level 2 award in the near-future.
However, my sporting career has not been limited to tennis. I have also played competed in other sports to a high level including field hockey and athletics. Therefore, I have a good understanding of the demands and challenges of balancing sports with academics, and knowing how the needs differ between individual and team sports.
I have taught tennis for many years both on a one-to-one basis and in group sessions. Within the sessions, my approach differs depending on the individual so I try to keep the coaching sessions as individualised as possible.
