I used to have tutors who brought different aspects and perspectives of teaching of some which were helpful and some which proved to be less helpful for me individually, this has made me realise, that there is no standard method of teaching so therefore I will adapt to each individuals needs to provide the best possible learning environment and experience. Each student learns differently, and each student copes and process information differently that’s why I use a variety of teaching methods that are used to best suited to the individual, for some actively learning by standing up and carrying out a visual idea of the topic area they’re struggling with and for others methods such as Active Recall, The Feynman Technique and so many more that I will bring up and try to utilise, to make sure the student feels confident in their learning. Therefore my teaching methods range from performing visual tasks to convey the idea of a concept to making notes, creating mind maps and revising past papers, as it has helped me to understand different aspects of a very detailed and complex subject such as Biology. Therefore if at anytime the student feels overwhelmed we can try a different approach and likewise also call it a day or take a break to make sure we don’t enforce the idea of overworking yourselves as that is something I learned during my period of GCSE’s. I will carry out my best efforts to make sure the student is comfortable in their learning as that is my priority.
