Since 2018, I have been working therapeutically with children, young people and adults. I hold a full Access NI check and have completed further training in order to enhance my therapeutic skills, such as MAKATON, ELKLAN, TEFL and PECS. Within my role as a Speech and Language Technical Instructor, I worked one-to-one, and in groups, with children with speech, language and communication difficulties within primary school settings, acute settings, health centres and during home visits. Furthermore, in 2020 I commenced a PGCE in Education whilst continuing to work as a Speech and Language Technical Instructor. After graduating, I secured a post as a Primary School Teacher in a local primary school.
Throughout both roles, as a Speech and Language Technical Instructor and as a Primary School Teacher, I have supported young people in the primary education system and have both observed and experienced a wide range of behaviour approaches and strategies. I have a passion for providing a positive learning environment and use positive behaviour strategies in order to manage both individual and whole class behaviours.
