I have extensive tutoring experience for all ages, particularly secondary school. I have also tutored many people with Special Educational Needs, including autism. My specialist subjects are English and 11 Plus tuition.

I believe in a personalised tuition experience, using a variety of tools depending on the student's needs. These include using mnemonic memory methods, pictures and diagrams, and using personalised tests to make sure the student understands the subject inside out and back to front! I have found particular success in using a wide range of approaches for each student, and I use only research-backed techniques that are proven to increase memory and understanding, such as active recall. I do not believe in simply getting students to repeat what they have been told.

I am happy to be flexible to your needs, and can attend your house in the Manchester area or tutor online. I typically begin with a half hour trial lesson to help me understand the student's specific needs and learning style, which we can then hone in on in later lessons. Lessons can then range from half an hour to 2 hours, depending on your preferences and needs. I believe that anyone can achieve amazing results if given the correct resources and time, and it is this positive approach that I bring into every lesson. The techniques that I teach you can then be applied to all other subjects, meaning you will see improvements across the board, not just in English!
