How my lessons begin is with a simple competency test to see how they find maths as a subject. I take this opportunity to note down key subjects that they tell me they want to focus on alongside looking at questions they get wrong. By guidance and additional work outside of lesson hours I ensure that they develop confidence. I am also on stand by for whenever they have questions throughout the day.
in addition, I can also inform parents/guardians of what I feel is necessary for their child to focus on to also get them involved with their child’s learning if wished to do so.
