I am an efficient and approachable private tutor of Maths, Physics and Mandarin. I enjoy working with both children and adults alike and be able to develop their full potentials and abilities. I am very patient, friendly and able to create a relaxing learning atmosphere for all students.
My teaching career started in 1985 when I graduated from university and I have now been teaching privately since 2009. I was also retained by a local family who asked me to tutor their son whilst studying at the Grammar School. With due diligence, care and of course lots of hard work we achieved three A*s in Maths, Physics & Mandarin all as a result of my work under a one to one tuition approach. I have also undertaken home schooling for a 7 year old boy for some months following an accident and he achieved the highest marks in the end of term exams in his class.
I like to assess your individual needs in the first lesson in order to develop a tailored tuition plan.
Based on experience I think it's fair and reasonable to say that students should achieve at least two grades higher under my direct private tuition in Maths and Mandarin,one grade up in Physics which subject to both the initial level of students, total hours of tutoring and homework quantity and quality. I would advice students to book Maths and Mandarin tuition as early as possible if you are preparing for the GCSE exams.
I also provide Mandarin and Maths virtual lessons on Zoom with a digital whiteboard on which we both can write. So I suggest that you try a virtual session first especially for secondary or GCSE students.
