Keeping the IB learner profile in mind, I structure all lessons irrespective of Exam Board so the lessons makes links, examines differing perspectives etc. making the lessons enriching and engaging. I don't teach out of textbooks or course companions - those are for guidelines. I spend at least 45 minutes planning each lesson with clear learning objectives and outcomes. Regular assessment and timely, detailed feedback are also part of my lessons. As History IA or EE guide, I spend as much time as required and most of my students have scored As or high Bs in these essays.
The lessons are interactive and students' voice is a feature of my classes. Plenty of practice writing essay answers and solving past questions are integral part of my teaching.
