My plan for a tutoring session is usually as follows:
1. Start the session with a warm-up activity. For example: For primary school students it could be 5-7 questions on simple addition, subtraction, etc to get the brain to start thinking analytically.
2. Going through and explaining concepts of the topic to be done in the session.
3. Solving few problems with the student. Explaining how the concepts just learned are applied in problem-solving.
4. Give the student a few questions of varying difficulty to solve on the spot.
5. Correcting questions just solved by the student and doubt solving. Going over concepts that they did not understand and solving wrong questions together.
6. At last I assign homework and if time permits I like to end the session with another activity. Similar to the warm-up but this time instead of problem-solving I usually do rapid-fire questions to improve mental maths or help with remembering formulas or play games that improve analytical thinking.

This plan is not concrete and is changed depending on the student. The warm-up activity and the ending activity are always optional and are omitted if the student needs more time to focus on other areas of the session plan.
