My lessons will be interactive! When I tutored in my secondary school, I would ask the students what topics they were struggling with, in particular beforehand so I could prepare accordingly. If they were struggling with an overall topic, I would prepare a few PowerPoint slides going through the content, following an example question that I would do and continue with the students doing a few questions on their own. This can be done in groups, so students can discuss how they would go about doing the question, allowing them to see if they comprehend. Then, once students feel comfortable, I will allow them to answer questions on their own. Whilst seeing me doing an example, they can understand how to approach a question whilst grasping the technique of answering it! If someone does not feel comfortable with a topic, I could go into small breakout rooms and answer any further queries they may have. I would finish off with a step-by-step guide to answering questions if relevant and with some tips and tricks to score marks. This ensures that the students understand the content and can apply it to an exam question!
