I have 1-year tutoring experience so far. My typical lesson structure would be to first start off by explaining what points from the GCSE or A-Level Maths spec we plan to go through in that session. I will then breakdown and explain all the material that may come up for that part of the spec and go through some example questions together. I will also let you try a range of different practice questions of varying difficulties by yourself. Should you get stuck, I will be there to assist you and provide you with some guidance to help you figure it out. The questions will be a mix of questions I've made up myself, questions from the textbook and past paper exam questions. These questions will be handpicked in advance- we'll start with easy questions and once you can comfortably do those, I will provide more challenging questions. The session will then end with us summarising key points we've learnt today and any questions you may still have. I will have noted specific questions you struggled with and make more questions similar to those to go through as warm-up exercises at the start of our next session.
My sessions will be quite flexible, if there is some topics which you need to spend more time on to understand properly, I will not rush through just to teach everything I have planned. I am more than happy to leave certain topics for the next session. However, If certain topics feel easy and you get through them quickly, I am also happy to quickly move onto the next topic even if I hadn't originally planned to.
