Priyanka Patel

I am really interested in becoming a history tutor as I am currently studying History at University and am extremely passionate about it. I am also extremely passionate about helping young people, especially through education and would love the opportunity to become a tutor. I have had previous experience working with children as I have volunteered at local primary schools in which I aided the teacher in the class and helped with reading and activities. This was an extremely valuable experience that taught me about the importance in being adaptable and communicating effectively to young children, especially when you have to explain complex ideas in a simple way to aide their understanding. During my time at school, I also would help students with their homework in a variety of subjects when they were finding it difficult to complete and did not understand the topic. This was a valuable experience and I believe this makes me suitable for this role.

In terms of how I teach my lessons, I prefer to do my lessons online. I am able to adapt to the students needs but like to include activities to test the students knowledge to ensure their understanding of the topics. I also like to offer support in essay writing to help the student improve and to see what level the student is at in order to help them improve their grades. It is really important to me that the student has a positive experience as I have had bad experience with tutors in the past and that is why the student always comes first for me.
