The first thing i’d like to do is see what level the student is working at. For example, if the student shows no knowledge about a certain topic or area of Psychology, the first thing is to make sure they know all the knowledge they need before moving on to answering exam questions and how to apply the knowledge learnt to AO1 and application questions. Every student has different ways and techniques of learning and therefore i wanna make sure I recognise that technique before teaching them and prepping them before exams. However, if a student has an excellent understanding of a topic and can recall all the information but has an issue applying it to exam questions then simply what I would teach them is how you know what to speak about when a certain question is asked.
