Lessons will be held over zoom meetings but I am happy to switch to platforms the student is comfortable with. The lesson will start with different modes of trying to learn content whether this is by using a presentation or a whiteboard. Once confident that all aspect of content is covered, we will move onto applying all knowledge to exam questions, looking at different ways the question can be approached, tricks that can be used with how they are phrased, exploring how much depth is required to attain full marks, etc. I believe focusing on exam technique is as important as learning the content if not more so majority of sessions will be used to make student confident in approaching exam style questions to get them prepared for real examinations. I have had over 3years of experience with age group 6-16 and have recently worked with a student who sat his GCSEs this academic year. This experience has equipped me to have the ability to adapt myself to the needs of the individual and explore ways the student feels most confident in learning. The main approach I take is to make the student as comfortable as possible and make it a friends environment for them to feel confident enough to share when they are struggling and require further support, or to open up about any other concerns about the teaching material. I believe the best way as student can get as much as possible out the lessons is by learning in a non-judgemental situation and therefore make it my top priority to ensure this happens.
