As all students are more receptive to various teaching styles, I have always ensured that I set up an open line of communication where the student can feel comfortable vocalising if something is not beneficial to them so that they can get the most out of the lessons.

Maths:

My style is usually tackling topic by topics, beginning the class by going over any homework assigned and taking time to clarify any doubts the student may have had and doing corrections and/or taking time to answer general questions they may have such as doubts from school. When beginning the topic, I take time to explain things really well, making notes and ensuring the student constantly understands by using various examples and taking time to ask if there are any doubts. I then go through a couple of questions with them before letting them do a few questions alone to see how they get on and gauge where more explanation and time needs to be spent. The lesson then usually ends with a recap and an informal oral quiz to see how much they have retained before assigning homework.

English:

My style of teaching is usually going through the book in chunks (assigning the reading as homework) so that we can explore topics and have open discussions together that can get the student thinking and spark up interesting debate. We would then proceed to plan out answers to essay-style questions, similar to the style we can expect to see in exams and give them the chance to then write this out alone. Time will also be spent alongside the syllabus learning techniques, tips and tricks that will allow them to always provide the perfect answers for the various tasks expected to be executed within the exam.
