My lessons are engaging and interactive, designed to cater to various skill levels, from beginners to advanced photographers. Each session is structured around both theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring students understand the foundational concepts of photography while getting plenty of hands-on practice.
We start with the basics of camera mechanics and lighting techniques, progressively delving into more complex topics like composition and post-production. This approach helps build a comprehensive skill set, from capturing images to editing them using software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, which I am proficient in due to my extensive background in photojournalism and documentary photography.
Drawing from my Master’s degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London and another Master's in Culture and Media Studies, I incorporate a rich blend of artistic and technical instruction. My professional experience as a photojournalist has equipped me with unique insights into storytelling through images, which I pass on to my students, encouraging them to develop their own style and voice.
My lessons also include peer review sessions and constructive feedback, fostering a supportive learning environment where students can share ideas and grow. I tailor content to meet individual learning needs and goals, making each session dynamic and relevant to real-world photography scenarios. This personalized approach ensures that every student not only learns effectively but also feels inspired and confident in their photography journey.
