Recently I have tutored in legal subjects such as contract law and understanding legal systems. However I have tutored in academic writing, Spanish, History and Economics. I have mainly tutored university students, many of whom English is not their first language, but I have also tutored secondary students in GCSE subjects. When I was taking GCSEs and A Levels, the one thing I wanted was someone to clear up the confusion where my teachers were unable to. Now many years later, I am happy to be able to do so for my students.
Through my time at university, I have taken teaching and tutoring modules which have helped me structure lesson plans and give constructive feedback to students in a timely manner. In terms of my approach to lessons, I prefer getting to know my students first to understand how they prefer to learn, then we tackle areas they struggle with until they have confidence in the subject. The learning experience is further supported with exam papers and excercises to test knowledge.
I know learning can not be fun and to be honest rather stressful. Because of that I try my best to make sessions as useful and as interesting as I can! I try my best to provide a calm and safe learning environment, because I find that it is the best way to promote productive learning.
I am flexible in providing tutoring sessions both online and in person, whatever is easiest for the students. However, there is a limit in distance for me because of strikes and increased travel costs.
If you are interested in having me as a tutor, don't hesitate to contact me. Price is negotiable.
