Dr Polly Paulusma

I teach on the Songwriting MA programme at ICMP where I am Associate Professor of Song and Literature. I have been guiding songwriters in their craft for last five years, after working as a professional songwriter since 2003 and, on the side, teaching poetry and literature since 2009. I don't really think one can teach songwriting but one can share secrets, techniques, modes of understanding and troubleshooting advice, all designed to help songwriters put structures in place and daily practices that will aid the songwriting process.

I am a professional songwriter: I am a recording artist with Bjork's label One Little Independent and release records with them. I have been signed to Sony Publishing. My songs as cowrites have appeared on the records of other artists. I have had songs placed in advertisements and feature films. I continue to make and release albums commercially and cowrite with a wide range of artists around the world.
