To whom may concern,

My name is Polliana. I have a law degree from abroad-Brazil. A master’s degree in environmental sciences from the University of Southampton, and a halfway PhD on Environmental Law and Sustainability (that unfortunately it was not completed due to life circumstances]. At the moment, I work part time for an international Company supporting people who are struggling with their mental health.
During my time at the University of Southampton I was fortunate enough to have a mentor (provided by the University of Southampton with partnership from Students Finance UK ) - designed to students that were struggling somehow, it could be mental health, it could be the workload, or even their personal life interfering with their academic possibilities.
What I have learnt from that was: that sometimes we just need someone to listen, recognise our potential and have faith on us, believing that we can make it happen.
That’s why I am applying for this position. I really do think that I can make a difference in one student life. I have been there! Furthermore, it’s about not judgement, but listening and adapting. At the end of the day, the students are there from they own merit; they might be struggling, but what they might need is a little push, or love, or understanding, or all together.
I am here to support them with the best of my abilities… academic, life experiences and above of all, understanding and support them to be the best version of themselves, that they might not see it now.
