I have a BA in English Language Teaching (ELT) and an MA in English Language Education. I have over eighteen years of English language teaching and English for Academic Purposes experience in English Foundation programmes in various universities outside of UK including two years in UK universities. From 2006 to 2019 I worked as an EFL and EAP Instructor, and also as a Testing Coordinator for two years, mostly preparing students for English proficiency requirements before they proceed to their further studies. Among my duties were assesssing and marking students entrance exams as well as keeping track of student portfolios. I am familiar with technology integrated learning and teaching and I have experience using Virtual Learning Environment tools (VLE) such as Blackboard and Sharepoint and I have excellent IT skills. In 2019 I worked as an EAP Reading and Writing Tutor and taught academic English to Chinese Post-graduate business students at the University of Southampton, UK and apart from teaching I delivered weekly tutorials to students in order to get their feedback and to assist them in their studies. I have interest in teaching learners from various nationalities and have taught English to learners from countries such as Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, Congo, Nigeria, Russia, Turkey and China (Chinese students experience in UK) so I can certainly say that I am familiar with diverse backgrounds and different learner approaches to English language. I have experience in creating, developing and organizing teaching and learning materials and I am an enthusiastic teacher who works to his full potential as an individual or in a team. Furthermore, I have had online teaching and testing experience using platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Moodle, Zoom and Big Blue Button. In 2021 again at University of Southampton I worked as an EAP Reading and Writing Tutor at the pre-sessional programme and taught online. Finally, I taught EAP and Academic English at St. Mary’s University International College and Study Skills at University of Bedfordshire on a part-time basis from October 2021 to January 2022.
