Primary Class Teacher
Bevois Town Primary School
Once I graduated my PGCE postgraduate degree, I started at Bevois Town Primary School straight away in a year 3 class. I was an ECT (Early Career Teacher) for 2 years, where I was closely monitored and supported to transition into the professional teaching career. Throughout my 2 years of ECT, I was observed once a week to ensure I was still delivering the National Teaching Standard (England). I passed both years and have been a fully qualified teacher since. Through my experience of teaching, I have learnt that being a teacher still involved consistent learning and adapting to the children's needs. Additionally, I have been responsible for overseeing the geography curriculum for the whole school, where I has to observe other teachers and monitor books to ensure the curriculum was being taught correctly and the learning is building upon their prior knowledge. During Spring term, we had an OFSTED inspection of the whole school.

PGCE student
University of Southampton
Within my PGCE Primary Education degree, I experienced 2 different schools (Tanner Brook School and St Marks School) where I had to teaching in a year 2 and year 5 class as part of my course. I had to pass these placements and they judgement my teaching against the National Teaching Standard (England).

Skills:
-Adapt to the appropriate needs of the different children Ensure there are positive behaviour management strategies
-Plan a precise and engaging lesson
-Build upon prior knowledge to enhance the children learning
-Assess and mark the children's work correctly

SEN Teaching Assistant
Teaching personnel
Through working at Teaching Personnel, it was an agency, which means that I had experienced several different school settings. Many of the schools were Special Educational Need School, they all ranged from the needs and what the job would involve. However, in all of the schools I went to the key role were the same.

Skills:
-Support the needs of the child through emotional regulations Supporting children with their social skills through conversations and learning tasks
-Encouraging cultural capital through different experiences (going to alpaca farms, dirt bike cycling and swimming)
-Ensuring they are in a safe and comfortable environment where they can feel relaxed and trust the adults around them

During my time at Teaching Personnel, I knew that consistency was key to ensure a positive relationship with
children so I mainly worked at Fairways, which was a autism specialist school. There were many children who had
challenging behaviour and needs but it was very rewarding to see the progression the children made even if it was
the tiniest thing
