As a recent graduate, and having achieved a first class Master’s in Astrophysics, I have a plethora of knowledge, advice and exam techniques to share with my students! My specialty is maths and physics, however my revision and exam techniques extend to all subjects, and I achieved all 7s/As and above in my GCSEs so I have experience in sitting exams across a broad subject range. I like to use metaphors to help guide a student’s understanding as having a mental picture of what’s going on is one of the best ways to wrap one’s head around tricky concepts. My lessons can be very flexible to fit the needs/ability of the student by focusing on what is struggled with most in the syllabus and revising any basics that weren’t absorbed properly when they were taught at school. This is vital in feeling confident about a subject and confidence is the key to actually enjoying learning! The best part of having a personal teacher is the in depth conversations that can be had on the subject that just aren’t practical in a classroom environment, and so these are something I greatly encourage in lessons.
