I draw from popular mixed media, like songs or interviews for example, to explore language in a relatable way, this is something I think is very beneficial for learning as it’s engaging and can quite often be fun too. It also tackles the challenging and seemingly ever changing nature of modern language in the media, which for most will be a large aspect of everyday life.
I use a structure in which each lesson will be focused on a singular subject, starting at whatever level the student feels comfortable with, so as not to cause confusion or make the student feel overwhelmed.
As well as this I think it is important for the lessons to be directed at areas of difficulty or interest and so I appreciate the input of students.
