I aim to teach holistically, that is to learn each of my student's individual needs and to help them grow in confidence and competence with this information in mind.
I'll try my best to make my lessons fun and uplifting whilst also being informative and helpful for my student's progression.
We'll start by getting to know a little bit about each other as well as your current level of proficiency at your instrument. From there we'll make a small list of goals for you to follow which can be updated over time. I'll also try to set you a little task to do before the next lesson and will check in with you on how that is going.
I think music is best taught in a practical manner, so even if we are just covering music theory, I'll try to give you some little tasks to apply your knowledge to your instrument directly. Besides this, we'll try to get you playing something as soon as possible. While there will be some technical focus to cover, it's more important to have fun when making music so I'll try to encourage this over all to help keep your spirits and commitment up.
The main thing is to have a good balance between fun and learning. Learning music is about curiosity and, most importantly, repetition. With this, your learning is partially in your hands, so if you have any questions or need to re-cap anything with me, then I welcome that as many times as necessary. I'll offer you as much patience as you need.
